Job Title: Senior Construction Accountant

Location: Bozeman, Montana

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial processes related to construction projects, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting, and supporting project managers in financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full cycle of accounting for construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review job cost reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Monitor project budgets, analyze variances, and provide timely financial insights to project managers.
• Process invoices, payments, and subcontractor billing in accordance with company policies and contractual agreements.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure financial objectives are met and provide guidance on financial matters.
• Support audit processes and assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to construction accounting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on construction accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Procore) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
