Job Title: Energy Regulatory Attorney
Location: Portland, Oregon

We are seeking an experienced Energy Regulatory Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in Portland, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy law, regulatory compliance and the ability to navigate complex legal issues affecting the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on regulatory matters related to energy, including electric and gas utilities, renewable energy, and environmental regulations.
  • Represent clients before state and federal regulatory agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state public utility commissions.
  • Draft and review regulatory filings, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on emerging energy policies and regulations.
  • Advise clients on compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop strategies for addressing regulatory challenges.
  • Participate in public hearings, workshops, and other proceedings as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • 3+ years of experience in energy regulatory law, with a focus on electric and gas utility issues.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for energy law and commitment to providing exceptional client service.
