Senior Structural Engineer 

Position: Senior Structural Engineer (Residential Structures)

Location: North Charleston, SC (On-site)

JOB DETAILS

Key Requirements:

 PE License in South Carolina (NC licensure is a plus).
 4+ years of experience in residential structural design (wood-framed houses).
 Experience in high-wind coastal zones & FEMA flood zone requirements.
 Deep foundation design experience (Required).
 Experience with retaining walls & basement design (Preferred).
 Must have led teams or overseen junior engineers/drafters.
 Strong communication skills to work with contractors, architects, and designers.

Responsibilities:

• Design & prepare structural plans for new home construction and renovations.
• Oversee & review the work of junior engineers and drafters.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions for renovations/additions.
• Work closely with contractors & architects to provide engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with FEMA & coastal flood zone regulations.

Key Skills & Experience Needed

1. Must have a Professional Engineer (PE) license in South Carolina (SC).
2. At least 4 years of experience designing wooden residential buildings.
3. Experience with deep foundations (for strong building support).
4. Knowledge of FEMA & coastal flood zone requirements (since homes are in high-risk areas).
5. Ability to manage multiple projects and lead a team.
